In Key West Story I paint a grim picture of life in Cuba, based in large part on my visit there some twelve years ago. Alas, things have not changed much, and perhaps have worsened, according to a fascinating firsthand account by reporter Kevin G. Hall in today’s Miami Herald (April 12, 2012). Traveling Cuba to cover the Pope’s visit, Hall picked up scores of hitchhikers who talked about their struggles. Read it here.
